Glossary

This page explains the words the site uses, in plain English. On every other page these words carry a small i. Hover over it or tap it to read the meaning where you are.

01Businesses

Broker
A company that opens trading accounts for people and carries out their trades. It earns a little on every trade.
Prop firm
Short for proprietary trading firm. Traders pay a fee to take a trading test, called a challenge. Those who pass get a funded account and keep a share of its profit.
Trading creator
A person who teaches or shows trading online, on YouTube, X, TikTok or in a paid community. They earn from their own course, community, coaching or sponsors.
Affiliate
A person or site that sends new traders to a broker or prop firm. They are paid for the traders they send, often per deposit or purchase. Many trading creators are affiliates too.
IB (introducing broker)
A person or company that refers new clients to a broker. The broker pays them for those clients, often a share of their trading.
High-risk business
On this site, a broker, prop firm, trading creator or affiliate. Google and Meta put extra checks on ads for trading products.
Traders (B2C)
You sell to individual people who trade. B2C means business to consumer.
Firms (B2B)
You sell to other companies, such as brokers, prop firms or sponsors. B2B means business to business.

02Trading

Challenge
The paid trading test at a prop firm. The trader must reach a profit target without breaking its loss limits.
Funded account
The prop firm account a trader gets after passing the challenge. The trader keeps a share of the profit it makes.
Payout
Money paid out to a trader. At a prop firm, it is the funded trader's share of the profit.
Deposit
Money a trader moves into their account at a broker. The first deposit turns a sign-up into a client.
KYC check
Short for know your customer. It is the identity check a regulated broker runs before a new client can trade. Prop firms run one before paying out.
Compliance
The rules a regulated firm must follow about what it says and promises. The word also means the person or team who checks them.

03Recipes

Growth hack
A one-off check or trick. You run it once, then act on what it shows.
Workflow
A fixed set of steps you run yourself, with AI doing parts of the work.
Agent
An AI program that runs the steps for you, on a schedule or when something happens. You approve what it makes before it goes out.
Organic
Growth from your own posts, videos, search results, emails and communities.

04Marketing

Breakout
A video that gets far more views than its channel usually gets.
Hook
The first line or first seconds of a post, video or email. It gives people a reason to keep going.
Niche
The narrow topic your buyers care about, such as prop firm challenges or forex for beginners.
Lead
A person or company that might buy from you, with a way to reach them.
Ad library
A public archive of the ads a company runs. Meta, Google, TikTok and LinkedIn each publish one.

05AI and software

Prompt
The written instructions you give an AI model.
Transcript
The words of a video or call, written out as text.
API
The way software, including an AI agent, asks a service for data directly.
API call
One request to a tool, such as fetching one profile or one page of results. Most tools charge per call.
MCP server
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. An MCP server is a standard connector that lets Claude and other AI agents use a service's tools.
Command line (CLI)
A program you run by typing commands in a terminal. Coding agents such as Claude Code can run it for you.
Pay as you go
You pay for what you use, often by buying credits up front, instead of paying for a monthly plan.
CRM
Short for customer relationship management. It is the software where you keep your contacts, leads and deals.
